Pelita or lamp is made from oil lamps. pelita or lamp has existed since the time of Buddha. At that time there has not yet electricity. Candles can be used as a substitute for a lamp. Before starting the public worship, usually we lit candles. Light lamp / candle symbolizes the Dharma which can remove darkness and bring light in ourselves and other beings. By practicing Dharma, we are able to differentiate between which good and which ones are not good. We become wise. Be a lamp for which in darkness.
